About the North Welland BIA

North Welland is one of Welland’s most active commercial areas, home to a wide mix of long-standing independent businesses, everyday services, restaurants, retail, and well-known anchor destinations. Conveniently located near major Niagara routes, downtown Welland, and the Seaway Mall, the district is a highly accessible place to shop, visit, and do business.

The North Welland Business Improvement Area supports this district by promoting local business, improving the area’s visibility, and helping strengthen North Welland as a welcoming commercial hub for the community.

Our Mission

The North Welland BIA exists to promote and beautify the district while supporting a strong, visible, and prosperous business community.

Through local promotion, beautification efforts, and community-focused initiatives, the BIA works to enhance the district and support the businesses located within it.

The map above provides a general overview of the North Welland BIA catchment area.

Our Catchment Area

The North Welland BIA catchment area includes Niagara Street from just north of Quaker Road, extending south to include both strip plazas on Thorold Road. The boundary also extends along Woodlawn Road to include the Seaway Mall area.

Businesses located within the catchment area are automatically members of the North Welland BIA. A portion of commercial property taxes helps fund the BIA and supports initiatives that benefit the district as a whole.
